Opportunities to be involved

Volunteering

Volunteers play a vital role in ensuring that our College can deliver a range of important programs to our students and community.  We value the involvement of our parents and families and believe that whilst volunteering provides tremendous support to the school community, it can also benefit individuals who choose to volunteer.  There are a number of ways you can get involved in the life of your child's College by:

  • assisting with listening to children reading
  • attending school celebrations
  • offering your time working at the school canteen
  • attending school excursions
  • attending the school AGM
  • nominating for Board

We always welcome parent feedback and support, and thank families for your ongoing commitment and contribution to our College community where parent-student-college partnerships are highly valued.

Volunteers and Police Checks

Volunteers at Caritas College must obtain the following:

  • a Department of Human Services Working with Children clearance through the Catholic Police Check Unit.  This can be initiated through the College on your behalf, or alternatively, you can apply herePlease note that this check is free of charge for volunteers.
  • complete the Responding to the Risk of Harm, Abuse & Neglect - Education (RRHAN-EC) online fundamentals course which is applicable to volunteers.  To do this, you must create a 'Non-Department for Education Staff' account at this website.

If you’d like to get involved with the College community, please don’t hesitate to contact WHS Coordinator on 8648 9700 or by completing your details below. We’d love to hear from you.
